After a show in Cocoa, FL, I got a call from Richard. His wife wanted this box for her jewelry. He had no idea who made it, as it was unmarked. With help from the forum, we determined it was a George Scherr, so I made a decal like the original. I re-felted the whole box, recovered the leather handle and cleaned it up. She was thrilled.
Wow, that looks wonderful! I just got my first wooden Machinist Tool Chests for my birthday and it’s a G. Scherr. I just need to clean it up, replace the felt, find some of the hardware straps since they are missing and figure out what to do with the mirror. It’s cloudy. I am just tickled!
