Part 1037 – 3″ Plunger Pin

Description

The Gerstner 3″ Plunger Pin is used to hold the front lid closed when the chest is locked. The 3″ plunger pin is used on Gerstner chests with front rails that are 2-3/4″ tall. The 3″ plunger pin comes with 2 bushings, 1 pin, 1 spring and 1 eyelet. The bushings trap the pin and spring in the front rail of the chest, while the eyelet is mounted on the top edge of the front lid to reduce wear on the front lid.

Please note: due to the weight of the top lids on different size chests, the location of the detent at the top edge of the plunger pin and the stiffness of the spring has changed throughout the years. Therefore, we recommend replacing plunger pins in pairs on chests.
