For nearly 100 years, skilled crafts people have relied on the Gerstner Journeyman Chest to store their best tools when they’re on the road. Not only does the chest provide ample storage, but its exquisite craftsmanship makes a statement.

The chest continues to grow in popularity among both craftspeople and hobbyists. Thanks to an updated design, it’s both taller and deeper, providing even more storage. We’ve lined the top compartment and 10 drawers with felt, so your tools and collectibles will have extra protection.

The iconic center drawer, originally designed to hold a machinist’s handbook, now comes with a lock. It’s the perfect place to store wallets, keys or phone while working. The chest also has a lockable front panel that covers the drawers, providing even more security. The chest features two side handles for easier portability.

A “Factory Retouched” chest, often referred to as a “Second Class or 2nd Class” may have a slight blemish in the finish, a repaired glue joint or contain a piece of hardwood or veneer that has a minor defect – none of which are enough to affect the operation or durability of the chest itself. All “2nd Class” chests are shipped with a 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee from H. Gerstner & Sons factory in Dayton, Ohio. All 2nd Class items have been packaged for shipping and we do not track or note what was retouched on each individual chest.
