Description
We wanted to keep what made the style 41 prized through seven different decades, yet modernize it for a new generation of craftsmen then we modernized it for a new generation of craftsmanship. Jack Campbell designed the 2007, and it stepped smoothly out of its predecessor’s shadow to become the best-selling chest in our line. It features some of our finest advancements over the years–more durable hardware, an upgraded finishing process, stricter tolerances in our manufacturing techniques, plus taller and deeper drawers for modern tools, and now with a front lid sporting a traditional and timeless look.
The 2007 also takes the portability of the Style 41—with the side handles and locking front panel—to new industries and collections. It’s perfect for collectors of coins, jewelry, EDC, sporting, crafting, and wood turning. If you want to show your prized possessions with iconic Gerstner style, this is the tool chest for you.
The Shaker-inspired front panel is back!
We’re going back to our clean, classic roots by re-introducing our traditional flat, or Shaker-style, front panel design that was the standard look up until the early 2000s. And what better place to start than with our most popular chest. The Style 2007 Classic Chest in Golden Oak is the Gerstner classic, with its roots deeply intertwined in our history. Its inspiration comes from the Style 41 series, our most popular from the 1920s to the 1980s—when Machinists and Tool & Die Makers could walk in for a job and be instantly recognized for their skill by the Gerstner they carried.
The flat front panels will become our main style for all our chests, bases, and rolling cabinets moving forward. We currently have the raised panel front lid styles in stock and in limited quantities as we transition through our complete product lineup. Please double-check the product previews to make sure you are ordering the style you prefer. Once our inventory of raised paneled units is gone you will still have the option to order, either as a custom replacement front lid or as part of a future production run.

I use my box for my watches and jewelry. I love the cherry wood finish because it matches my bedroom furniture.
Erik Kometti –
I use my box primarily for my Lie-Neilsen and Veritas chisels, planes and other assorted parts and tools.

I’ve had my "classic" in golden oak for about 10 years. It houses my collection (or part of my collection) of fine fountain pens. It is massive and sturdy and a beautiful piece of work.
