We originally designed this base to tuck neatly under our 2007 Classic Chest, where it increases locking storage capacity by 40 percent. This base also fits under any other 20″ Gerstner chest.
While it’s a beautiful complement to Gerstner chests, many customers use this versatile base as a standalone piece. With its flat top, it easily fits under a computer or printer and provides lockable storage in the home office. In the workshop, many store bulky tools on top and the delicate, precision tools in the base. With its fine lines and design, it’s also a great way to display a prized collection in the sitting room.
Second Class Products
A “Factory Retouched” chest, often referred to as a “Second Class or 2nd Class” may have a slight blemish in the finish, a repaired glue joint or contain a piece of hardwood or veneer that has a minor defect – none of which are enough to affect the operation or durability of the chest itself.
All “2nd Class” chests are shipped with a 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee from H. Gerstner & Sons factory in Dayton, Ohio.
All 2nd Class items have been packaged for shipping and we do not track or note what was retouched on each individual chest.
